We Believe that… |
---|
.) The Old and New Testaments are the verbally inspired Word of God; final in authority, inerrant in the original writings (I Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:21). |
.) The Godhead eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:16-17; Matthew 28:18-19; Revelation 1:4-6; Acts 20: 28). |
.) Jesus Christ was virgin born, being the Son of God. The scripture also declares the Deity and personality of the Holy Spirit (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; John 1:14-18; Philippians 2:5-8; John 14:16-17; John 16:7-15). |
.) The resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ was literal and bodily. He died on the cross as the vicarious atonement for sins. His present ministry is intercession in heaven (John 3:16; I Corinthians 15:3-4; I Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 7:25; II Corinthians 5:14). |
.) Man was created innocent and pure. Adam fell through the sin of disobedience; thereby all men are corrupted in body, mind, and soul. Therefore, we are all in need of redemption (Genesis 2:26, 2:17, 3:6; Romans 3:10, 3:23, 5:12, 8:6-7; Ephesians 2:1-3). |
.) Salvation is solely by grace through faith in the blood sacrifice, death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 10:9-10). All who receive Him are regenerated by the Spirit and become children of God (John1:12). All who are truly saved are kept forever (John 5:24, 10:28-29). Nevertheless, God cannot overlook sin in His children, and will chasten and correct them in love (Hebrews 12:6-8; I Corinthians 11:28-30). |
.) The Christian life is a “growth process” in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus (II Thessalonians 5:23; Titus 2:11-15; John 17:17; Hebrews 10:10-14). |
.) The church in its invisible form is the Body of Christ which is composed of all who, by faith, have truly trusted the Lord Jesus as Savior. The visible form of the church is the local assembly made up of baptized believers joined together by covenant of faith and fellowship of the Gospel, and observing the ordinances of Christ, the only true head of the church; that the local church is autonomous, free from the hierarchy of man or organizations (Ephesians 1:20-23; I Corinthians 12:12-27; Acts 2:41-47). |
.) The Devil is a personal being (Isaiah 14:12-17; Ezekiel 28:11-19; II Corinthians 11:13-15; Ephesians 6:10-12; Colossians 2:15; Revelation 20:1-3, 10). |
.) The return of Jesus Christ to earth will be literal, personal, bodily, and pre-millennial (Acts 1:10-11; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 19:11-16). |
